Children's Choir Friend $25 - $100 + This gift would go to the Mancini-Berry Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mary Mancini Berry was for many years the Executive Secretary to the CEO of the Phenix-Home LIfe Insurance Company in Hartford Connecticut. Before succumbing to cancer at age 60 in December 2000, it was her wish along with her husband to set up a continuing memorial scholarship. The Memorial Fund was established for Mary as a positive reminder of her love of music and the respect which she had for her brother and the talented youth with whom he came in contact during his forty year tenure as a music director. Donations have also been added to the fund by friends and family of Erasmo G. Mancini, who passed away in December 2003 at 99 years old, and who was an avid supporter of the Children's Choir. Mr. Paul M. Mancini, Sr., Executive Director and Music Director of the Ocean State Children's Choir and Mr. Russell Berry recommend the following criteria for the scholarship recipient. The recipent of any funding will be chosen by the drector, along with the recommendations of the Executive Director of the Choral Company, the Children's Choir 'parent' sponsor. The recipient will be an active member of the choir, and request for scholarship assistance should be made by the parent in writing for the present concert season. Besides partial funding grants, the scholarship could also be used to provide a singer with proper concert apparel. |
